Facebook Inc is obtaining Masquerade Technologies Inc, maker of the well known face-swapping application MSQRD, as a major aspect of endeavors by the world's biggest informal community administrator to construct its video administrations.
Wednesday's arrangement comes about three years after the Wall Street Journal reported that photograph and video informing application Snapchat had rejected an offer from Facebook.
Masquerade, which reported the arrangement on its site, did not reveal monetary points of interest.
The arrangement is progressively a bit of Facebook's greater push to develop into video, Monness, Crespi, Hardt, and Co Inc expert James Cakmak said.
It is far-fetched that Facebook would utilize Masquerade to altogether draw away Snapchat clients, he said.
While Snapchat has components, for example, swelling eyes, Masquerade permits clients to include embellishments including creature veils and snow to their photographs and video.
Masquerade, upheld by Yuri Gurski and Gagarin Capital, said authors Eugene Nevgen, Sergey Gonchar and Eugene Zatepyakin will join Facebook.
